🐾 Health Guarantee
At Eva’s Chihuahuas, we take great pride in producing healthy, well-cared-for puppies. The following health guarantee applies to every puppy placed from our home.
48-Hour Communicable Disease Guarantee
We guarantee that your puppy is free from life-threatening communicable diseases at the time of departure for a period of seventy-two (48) hours from the time the puppy leaves the breeder’s premises.
To validate this guarantee:
-
Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of receipt (the “Examination Period”) at Buyer’s expense.
-
If, during the Examination Period, a licensed veterinarian determines the puppy to be clinically ill with a serious communicable disease present prior to departure, Buyer must notify Breeder immediately.
The puppy may then be returned to Breeder, and Buyer will receive either:
-
A replacement puppy (when available) or full refund.
Veterinary documentation must be provided. Failure to have the puppy examined within 48 hours voids this portion of the guarantee.
One-Year Congenital Health Warranty
We provide a one (1) year health warranty from the puppy’s date of birth against life-altering congenital or genetic defects that severely affect the puppy’s quality of life as a companion animal.
If, within the first year of life, a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a debilitating congenital condition, Breeder will provide:
-
A replacement puppy of comparable quality (when available). or full refuend.
Written documentation from a licensed veterinarian may be required, and Breeder reserves the right to obtain a second veterinary opinion.
This warranty applies only to serious congenital conditions and does not cover minor or cosmetic issues.
Routine & Non-Covered Conditions
The following are considered normal, non-life-threatening, or environmental conditions and are not covered under this guarantee:
-
Intestinal parasites (including but not limited to roundworms, hookworms, coccidia, giardia)
-
Size or adult weight
-
Coat color or coat changes
-
Missing teeth, retained baby teeth, misaligned teeth, or molar development
-
Undescended testicles
-
Fertility or breeding capability
-
Umbilical or inguinal hernias
-
Hypoglycemia due to improper feeding or stress
-
Any condition caused by environmental factors, neglect, injury, improper diet, or failure to follow veterinary advice
All puppies are provided with age-appropriate vaccinations and preventative deworming prior to placement. Ongoing veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and routine health maintenance are the responsibility of the Buyer.
📝 Intestinal Parasites Disclosure & Buyer Responsibility
Buyer acknowledges that intestinal parasites, including but not limited to roundworms, hookworms, coccidia, and giardia, are common in puppies and are not considered life-threatening conditions when properly treated.
Buyer understands that:
-
Puppies may acquire parasites: From normal environmental exposure (grass, soil, water, veterinary clinics, sidewalks, other dogs, etc.)
-
Many parasites have incubation periods of 1–3 weeks and may not be detectable at the time the puppy leaves the breeder’s care.
-
Routine deworming and fecal testing are a normal and expected part of responsible puppy ownership.
All puppies from Eva’s Chihuahuas are dewormed preventatively prior to placement and monitored for health and vitality. However, due to the common and environmental nature of intestinal parasites, Seller does not guarantee that a puppy will remain parasite-free after leaving Seller’s premises.
Buyer agrees to:
-
Have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48–72 hours of pickup.
-
Continue routine deworming and fecal testing as recommended by their veterinarian.
-
Maintain proper sanitation and hygiene practices in the puppy’s new environment.
Intestinal parasites are considered a routine and treatable condition and are not grounds for return, refund, replacement, or reimbursement of veterinary expenses.
